Hello beauty dolls,

This week manicure is the perfect escape from the nasty winter weather that we all have been experiencing across the country. Essie recently release their Resort collection and all four shades are beautiful. The two colors that I couldn’t resist are Resort Fling and Find me an Oasis.

Resort Fling is a creamy and smooth coral color. It really remind me of Essie’s Tart Deco but just a tad bit lighter. I had to apply 2 coats to achieve a perfect coral shade.

Find me an Oasis is absolutely adorable. The light blue shade reminds me of the beach, water and relaxation of a private island. I had to apply 3 coats to achieve the perfect shade.

Check out my collage below and pick up the new collection.. You won’t regret it.

It’s a Wrap: Diane Von Furstenberg

2 words 1 style..Wrap Dress. The woman who build a brand based on the idea to “celebrate freedom, empower women and sell confidence” has reached a huge milestone. Diane Von Furstenberg created the “wrap dress” over 40 years ago at the tender age of 26. What happened as an accident turned into a fashion statement that every women..and I do mean every women could wear. Furstenberg was quoted, “First it was a little wrap top inspired by what ballerinas wear, with a matching skirt and then I made it into a dress.” A dress that any woman, no matter your size, shape or height can pull off.

The journey of a dress is an exhibit that will run from January 11-April 1 in Los Angeles. The exhibit is located at the Wilshire May company building and will feature some of the most popular prints that DVF has ever created. If you’re in LA check it out.

Welcome 2014

It’s hard to believe that it’s 2014. My original vision for BeautyArmoire, was to create a site that focus on beauty products, fashion and home decor. I aspired to create content that is original and has substance while writing for the normal girl who loves all things fabulous. I have been subscribing to InStyle magazine for years and what I adore about InStyle are the articles and overall layout of the magazine. InStyle has a section for every woman, from the wear it this way, to the Q&A section from the most coveted designers, celebs or beauty and make-up artist, the magazine is loaded with content of value. That is what I want BeautyArmoire to become, but that doesn’t go without struggle. Last year I vowed to use this space as an outlet and during that time I battle with such a overcrowed blogosphere. There is a plethora of blogs on the web that share the same content, wear and write about the same trends and really lack originality. I want my online space to be original and that is why I took time off to re-evaluate myself and get into a head space to create great things. BeautyArmoire with reflect my original vision, so look forward to more articles, pictures and everything fabulous about fashion, beauty and home decor.

Also, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @beautyarmoire and twitter @beautyarmoire.

Lessons I learned from MBFW: Black & White

Hello Beauty Dolls,

As I explained in my previous post, I have decided to start a series based on the top trends that grace the runway during MBFW. The first trend that I will cover is Black & White. Black and White is a color combination that is timeless and can be combined with prints, neon and metallic. The possibilities are endless and that is what make this combo perfect. I choose two of my favorite black & white pieces and explained how you can wear each outfit during the Fall and into Spring of 2014.

The first look is a French connection dress from Nordstrom.

This dress is a trendy piece that can last for many seasons. You can easily wear this to the office and happy hour. For Fall/Winter I paired this dress with a pattern tight and a black pump with gold accent. I would also pair this with a burgundy coat and gold accessories.

For the Spring, I would pair this dress with a bright pink pump and white clutch with black and gold details. The Kate Spade pump is perfect for the office with a 4 inch heel but also HOT enough for an after office mixer.

The second look is a floral print suit.

I absolutely love this look! During the winter I would pair this suit with a boot rather than a sandal. This suit is so versatile and can be worn the exact way during the Winter and Spring. During the spring I would rock a lace up bootie that would complete the look.

So what do you think about the Black & White trend?

Lessons I learned from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

This week I have decided to start a series title “lessons I learned from MBFW.”  The last week was extremely busy for me during fashion week. I spent most mornings in hair & makeup. While wearing the most exquisite and expensive clothing to only race from one show to another.. while sitting at my work desk. Unlike other fashion bloggers, magazine editors and buyers I attended various fashion shows online..streaming that is! And I am very thankful for instagram, twitter and live streaming for the opportunity to participate in such a fun and exciting time. I followed many designers and the main lesson that I learned was that Spring 2014 will make one think that it is still Spring 2013 with a few added touch.  Many of the trends that you fell in love with this year will remain and honestly I’m excited about it! I love to invest in classic pieces so now I can buy fun and trendy pieces without feeling so guilty about the price tag.

This week I will highlight the top 2 trends of Spring 2014. I will show you how to shop the latest trends that you can wear now until Spring 2014.  So stay tune and take notes.
